Olive & Edith Garden Artist Workshop

A pencil follows the curve of a stem.

A watercolor brush touches the paper. A wash spreads. A bloom appears.

The view slowly widens, and the finished painting is hanging on the Workshop wall - but the beginning remains visible beneath it.

The Artist’s Workshop is where observations from the living garden become paintings, drawings, patterns, sculptures, mixed-media pieces, books, and collections. It holds finished work, but it also keeps the evidence of making: sketchbooks, experiments, natural specimens, reference photographs, paint-stained palettes, unfinished studies, and ideas still waiting for their form.

Nothing here begins as a product.

It begins with noticing.

A Rose of Sharon becomes more than a flower after someone has watched the light move across its petals, found a spider inside it, sketched the bend of its branch, and remembered the massive web stretching toward the Firecracker bush.

A morning-glory leaf may become a pressed specimen, a collage element, a motif, or simply a shape worth drawing again.

The Workshop preserves that journey from encounter to artwork.
