Seasonal Garden Records
The garden, changing in its own time.
Seasons do not arrive here as four tidy dates.
Spring may begin with a magnolia opening before the rest of the garden feels awake.
Summer may be measured in gardenia fragrance, anole hatchlings, milkweed searches, cicada sound, or seed pods opening in heat.
Autumn may arrive first through lower light and the white mistflower's crowd of wings.
Winter may look quiet while roots, seeds, chrysalises, and unopened buds continue their hidden work.
Seasonal Garden Records gathers observations across days, months, and years so patterns can become visible without forcing the garden into a schedule.
The purpose is not to make every year match. It is to notice how each year differs.
