Frequently Asked Questions
A few notes for your visit.
If your question is not answered here, you are welcome to write to the Garden Tenderers.
What is Olive & Edith?
Olive & Edith is a living world of garden stories, original art, natural-history observation, and beautiful things made for noticing. It grew from one real Texas garden, tended and observed since 2009.
Who are the Garden Tenderers?
Olive & Edith is tended by two people who prefer to remain quietly behind the garden’s stories. One observes, photographs, writes, sketches, paints, and follows small discoveries. The other brings steady hands, growing knowledge, and the care of a Fort Worth Master Gardener to the soil and larger work of tending.
Is the artwork original?
Yes. Olive & Edith artwork begins with original observation, photography, sketching, painting, illustration, pattern development, sculpture, or mixed-media making by the Artist’s Workshop. Product descriptions will identify the medium and format of each item. Some mixed-media may include works or inspiration of public domain available works.
Are all paintings available as prints?
No. Selected works may be released as prints or digital downloads, while others will remain available only as originals or within their stories and collections.
Are original paintings available?
Available originals will be clearly identified in the Potting Shed Shop. Because an original is one of a kind, purchasing it does not include reproduction, licensing, or other intellectual-property rights.
Are handmade pieces exactly alike?
No. Small differences in color, texture, shape, brushwork, materials, and finish are part of handmade work. Product photographs and descriptions will explain meaningful variations.
Do you accept commissions?
The Artist’s Workshop will occasionally accept commissions. If anything changes, details will be shared here. If you are interested in a personalized or commissioned piece, please write to the garden to begin that discussion by clicking here.
Is Olive & Edith artwork available for licensing?
Selected work may be available for licensing. Please visit the Licensing page for the information to include in an inquiry.
Do you work with publishers, organizations, or other businesses?
Thoughtful editorial, publishing, licensing, wholesale, garden, library, museum, conservation, and creative collaborations may be considered. Visit Working With Us to learn what kinds of projects may feel at home here.
How quickly are orders prepared?
Handmade and made-to-order items may require more time than ready-to-ship originals or stocked products. The applicable preparation estimate should appear on each product page and at checkout.
Where do you ship?
Currently, Olive & Edith only ships to the United States. Delivery methods and costs will appear at checkout.
Can an order be returned or exchanged?
Eligibility depends on the item. Visit Shipping & Returns for the complete policy, including the rules for originals, prints, handmade pieces, digital products, personalized work, and damaged shipments.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
Contact the Garden Tenderers within 3 (three) days of delivery and include the order number, a description, photographs of the item, and photographs of the packaging. Please keep all packaging until the matter is resolved. Email: oliveandedith@gmail.com
May I share an image from Olive & Edith?
You may link directly to a public Olive & Edith page. Limited social sharing may be permitted when the image remains unchanged, the Olive & Edith name is clearly credited, and the post links back to the original page. Downloading, reposting entire articles, removing marks, altering work, using images commercially, creating products, or uploading work to AI systems requires written permission.
How often are Garden Dispatches (Letters from the Garden) sent?
Occasionally. Dispatches follow the garden rather than a rigid schedule. Subscribers may receive new stories, discoveries, paintings, seasonal notes, and pages "Before They’re Shelved." Every marketing email should include an unsubscribe option.
What are your studio hours?
The garden remains open online at any hour. The Artist’s Workshop and Potting Shed Shop are tended in flexible studio hours. Messages are answered within 2-3 (two to three) business days.
Notes from the Potting Shed Shop
The Potting Shed is a small artist’s shop. Many pieces are original, handmade, produced in limited quantities, or prepared only after an order is placed. These policies are intended to make expectations clear while allowing the work to remain careful and personal.
Product Descriptions
We make every reasonable effort to describe dimensions, materials, colors, condition, edition information, and important variations accurately.
Screens display color differently, and handmade work may include natural variations. Please read the full description and review all available images before ordering. Contact us before purchase if a detail is important to your decision.
Original Artwork
Original artwork is one of a kind unless clearly described otherwise. Minor evidence of the artist’s process - deckled edges, pencil marks, paper texture, brush variation, collage depth, or hand finishing - may be part of the work rather than damage.
Ownership of the physical original does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.
Prints and Editions
Product listings will identify the print method, paper or material, dimensions, whether the piece is signed or numbered, and whether it belongs to an open or limited edition.
Frames, mats, props, or display objects are not included unless the listing expressly says they are.
Handmade and Natural Materials
Handmade sculptures, jewelry, mixed-media pieces, pressed botanicals, and objects incorporating natural materials may vary slightly. Natural materials can continue to age, soften, fade, or change over time. Care instructions will be included when appropriate.
Digital Products
Unless a listing states otherwise, digital products are for the purchaser’s personal use only and may not be redistributed, resold, shared, modified for resale, or used commercially.
Prices, Availability, and Errors
Prices are shown in United States currency and may change before an order is placed. Items may be withdrawn or updated without notice.
If a listing contains a meaningful pricing, description, inventory, or technical error, Olive & Edith may contact the purchaser to offer correction, substitution where appropriate, or cancellation and refund. No substitution will be made without consent.
Orders and Payment
An order is complete only after payment is successfully processed and confirmation is issued. Payment processing will be handled through the providers enabled on the Wix website. Olive & Edith does not receive complete payment-card numbers from the checkout interface.
Cancellations
Cancellation requests should be sent promptly. A cancellation is not possible after an order has entered production, been personalized, is digital, or has already shipped.
Promotions and Gift Cards
Terms, expiration rules, exclusions, and any legal requirements should be stated with the relevant offer.
Questions Before Ordering
If you are uncertain about an item, please write before purchasing. A careful answer before an order is better than disappointment afterward.
