Magnolia 'Jane'
Plant portrait: Tulip-shaped flowers open reddish purple outside and pale pink-white within on a small deciduous tree.
Garden rhythm: Late-winter to spring bloom, sometimes repeating; sun to part shade, acidic drained soil, even moisture.
Garden companions: Early flowers may serve beetles and other insects.
Worth noticing: Its blooms belong to the user's earliest enduring flower memories - the flowers she never really stops seeing. A tree we are so grateful to have planted outside our dining room window for it's stunning view of its purple flowers and the birds who love to visit.
